PushRod Actuator (For Tight Spaces)

Challenge: Building a pushrod actuator with tight space constraints and high force requirements as a drop-in replacement for an existing design

Solution: Ball screw design incorporating custom integrated motor clamping mechanism allowing for fitment of standard off-the-shelf motor solution and eliminating coupling for shorter overall length. The solution included a wide-rail linear guide for anti-rotation of shaft and additional support, adding rigidity. Motion Solutions provided Eichenberger ball screw, NB Corporation linear guide, Teknic motor and other Motion Solutions designed machined components.

Result: The units fit into packaging as necessary and perform to customers initial requirements. Additional long-term testing will be done to further validate unit over time.
